From the Editor’s Couch

Three stories.
One extra hour.

The clocks fall back. The pancakes still get cold.

We gained an hour and somehow the family is already late. There is a small plastic truck beside the remote, a brunch plate nobody remembers ordering, and enough orange in the room to invite a Bears argument.

Han wants Love healthy. Rothstein wants the biggest scoring environments. Maverick wants the dome. Everybody gets a chair. Nobody gets to hide a flimsy supporting cast underneath it.

Why Male Models?

Same Sunday. Different suspects.

Three football stories, each with a single-entry and tournament cast. The rosters stay in the drawers; the reasons belong on the couch.

Market Read

Rothstein

Candidate casts

The expensive television package

Rothstein has bought the good seats. Dallas–Arizona and Buffalo–Baltimore share the biggest totals, but the touchdowns still need owners. His first cast keeps Dak and Lamb together, gives Javonte the ground work, and asks McBride to make Arizona answer.

The tournament cast moves to Allen, Shakir and Flowers. Warren and Irving get the running-back chairs; Hockenson and Cooper earn receiving roles. That is a different supporting cast, with fewer Dallas eggs in the basket. Spending every dollar is allowed. Leaving four hundred is allowed. Buying an unemployed extra because the costume fits is discouraged.

What breaks it

Arizona stalls, Dallas finishes everything on the ground, or Buffalo spreads its scores around. The first cast puts five players in one game.

Han Solo

Candidate casts

Love, if the ankle lets him dance

Han wants Love to come back swinging, provided nobody announces a strict snap count. Friday clearance keeps the door open; it does not turn a shared backfield into twenty guaranteed touches. The offensive line still has to move somebody.

Burrow and Ja’Marr stay together in both casts. Higgins gets the second receiving seat in single entry; Chase Brown gets the alternate scoring lane in the tournament version. Jeanty appears through his receiving work as much as his carries, with Garrett Wilson answering in that tournament cast.

Hockenson and Jacksonville replace Warren and Pittsburgh in single entry: an established receiving role and a pressure matchup against Indianapolis’ new left guard.

The calls stay where Han put them: Minnesota–Detroit under 46.5, Raiders–Jets over 45.5. The other games broadly follow the board.

What breaks it

Love gets restricted, Cincinnati stops throwing early, or the Jets–Raiders points miss the players holding our tickets.

Maverick

Candidate casts

The dome exception

Maverick has looked at the outdoor forecast and found a roof. Detroit’s passing game has handled pressure well enough to challenge Minnesota’s blitz, and concentrated targets offer a path past 46.5. The character follows that football argument.

Kyler, Jefferson and Hockenson make the first cast, with St. Brown across the field. The tournament version gives Goff the keys and pairs St. Brown with LaPorta, while Jefferson keeps answering. Bernard’s receiving FLEX helps the first cast avoid a desperate salary repair.

What breaks it

Minnesota’s excellent defense wins, its passing offense stays stuck, or Gibbs takes Detroit’s touchdowns. Han’s under has plenty of ways to be right.

Everybody’s Got a Guy

The cheap chair still needs legs.

Wan’Dale has a real target opening with Tate out, but four catches for seven yards is a useful reminder that opportunity can be miserable. Bourne has a supported slot role. Cooper’s expanded job is promising and young enough to need a bedtime.

Strange earns consideration through receiving work, with or without a Meyers absence. Those prices are useful. Their repeated appearances are also shared risks. A different quarterback does not make the same cheap receiver a different bet.

Before You Donate to DraftKings

Check the weather. Find the shoe.

  1. Tampa and Jacksonville are the wind-and-rain watches. Deep throws and clean execution deserve attention; showers do not hand a defense six points.
  2. Active lists are in. Love is available; the committee still matters. Every game here starts at noon Central. There is no afternoon rescue window in this pool.
  3. Review the whole cast and what it shares with the others. Thursday’s point estimates are still Thursday’s. A Sunday headline does not update the math. Quit sniffing glue.

Han’s original grading thresholds remain Minnesota–Detroit under 46.5 and Raiders–Jets over 45.5. The latter now trades at 46.5. All eight early games start at noon CST / 1 p.m. EST / 18:00 UTC. These are dated snapshots, not opening lines.

Final actives and workload contextGame-day reports reviewed

Selected players clear the inactive lists. Love is available; no announced strict numeric snap cap was found. Arizona’s committee and line injuries still matter. Froholdt starts at center.

Buffalo is missing Spencer Brown, while Moore and Kincaid are active. Shakir gets normal target competition, with no absence boost. Meyers is available for Jacksonville; Strange’s established receiving role remains the case. Breece Hall is inactive, leaving Braelon Allen expected to start. The Jets also miss Bailey, Ossai and Mitchell. Tampa gets Goedeke and Winfield back; Egbuka remains out. Atlanta misses Deablo and Bowman.

The morning Han single-entry example keeps Hockenson and Jacksonville in place of Warren and Pittsburgh. Warren is cleared; that earlier change was a receiving-role and pressure-matchup preference. The six displayed casts remain editorial candidates.

Final weather reviewJacksonville clock labels resolved · Tampa rain risk

Jacksonville: the updated NWS table now labels EST. The 1–4 p.m. game window shows 15–16 mph wind, gusts 23–24 and 31–33% rain probability. Tampa: 10–11 mph, gusts 18–20, 54–62% rain probability and thunder possible. Rain intensity and any lightning delay are not established. Weather alone does not guarantee more RB touches or defensive points.

Buffalo is 3–6 mph, Cincinnati 2–3 mph with 4–5% game-hour rain chances, and East Rutherford 6–7 mph with no forecast rain. Detroit is indoors. Pittsburgh’s earlier Sunday daily forecast was dry with light wind; a refreshed hourly table was unavailable. Dallas roof status and a fresh NWS stadium forecast remain unverified. A third-party morning outside forecast was benign; no roof-based point adjustment is applied.

Why the three stories differMarket Read · Editor’s Pick · Wrench’s Choice

Rothstein starts from the 54.5 Dallas and Buffalo environments, but his single-entry cast has five Arizona–Dallas players sharing one outcome. The tournament cast changes the game, quarterback and most support roles.

Han keeps Burrow/Ja’Marr together, adds Higgins in single entry and uses Chase Brown as another scoring route in the tournament cast. Jeanty’s receiving usage supports his place. An under can still support Hockenson catches; it does not require every receiver to fail. The two Han versions share five players.

Maverick’s researched scenario is Minnesota–Detroit passing breaking above 46.5: Goff’s play against pressure and concentrated receiving roles support the case. Minnesota’s defense, its own stalled passing game and Gibbs rushing scores are the countercase. Both versions use four slots from that game; changing quarterback sides leaves the slow-game risk.

Supporting roles and shared dependenciesA salary fit still needs a football role

Wan’Dale’s opportunity rises with Tate out, but weak efficiency remains a problem. Bourne’s slot work, Cooper’s expanded role and Strange’s established target share support their prices without promising touchdowns. Meyers is active and included in Strange’s competition.

Across these six candidates, Wan’Dale and Strange appear four times; Bourne, Tuten, Jeanty and Hockenson three times. Shared receiving roles and game outcomes can fail together. The related full-day review uses a different eligible pool and different player IDs; its shared injury assumptions and Han thresholds were checked for consistency.

How to read this issueSix candidate casts · Final pregame review

Each cast passes the nine-player positions and $50,000 cap. Our editorial construction rules add a same-team receiving partner for the quarterback, at most four players from one team and no offensive player facing the selected defense. Those are house choices.

These are researched candidate casts. There is no verified current numerical projection and ownership feed covering the full early pool. October 29 estimates remain dated and do not establish a current optimum, ceiling, duplication rate or EV. A partial Sunday–Monday projection page was excluded because its slate and coverage differ. Final inactive lists and reviewed workload reports are incorporated above.

The approved cover returns from October 25. Final research review: November 1, 2026, 10:56 a.m. CST.
